I would consider myself to be pretty frugal when it comes to my purchases for our home. When I’m considering buying something I always always always try to think of multiple ways that it can be used. I don’t love the commitment of one item in one place, forever…😆I have always had this weird adoration for these vintage French laundry baskets. 😍 I just think that they are the cutest thing! I have seen them out at antique shows/flea markets but I had a lot of trouble finding one that was in good shape. I hopped online and found a vintage-inspired laundry basket for sale at Magnolia Market. I bought two of them because they really are so versatile and can be used in multiple ways. I wanted to share some of the options that I came up with in case you stumble upon one of these on your pickin’ adventures or you want to purchase a vintage-inspired one like me!
Front Porch PlanterOk so this isn’t technically “inside” of the home but it still counts right?! 🤷🏻♀️ I love using these laundry baskets as plant stands right outside of our front door. It brings a little height to this basket of ferns as opposed to it just sitting on the cement. I love using “older” elements to our new home to really give it an authentic farmhouse look. I do plan on switching this up for fall by maybe putting some pumpkins in that basket?!
Blanket & Pillow Storage
I believe this is the first way that I decided to use this laundry basket. I have had one in our living room full of blankets and pillows for quite some time now. It’s perfect because I have lots of fun ones that I want to display but only so many can fit on our couch… 😂 I love how it has the holes on the side so that you can see all the way through. It hides nothing, which helps me feel like my blanket/pillow addiction isn’t being hidden in a poor little closet 💛
Laundry Basket
This was a no-brainer. Maybe too simple but hey I actually like using something for what it was intended for, imagine that?! Now eventually, I’d like to get a custom liner made for this (I have seen tons on Etsy) but in the meantime I just placed an old blanket in there as a liner and we are able to use it as a laundry basket. It just has so much more charm than other ones that are maybe made of plastic. It goes so seamlessly with all of my antique decor in our master bedroom which is amazing! (PS – Hi Oakley! 😍)I hope this provided a few fun ideas if you are interested in buying one for your home. There are so many other ways that these laundry baskets can be used. The options really are endless. Are you a fan of french vintage laundry baskets like me?! I’d love to see how you style one in your home. Thank you so much for stopping by today!
