Antique Dress Form in Office

Did you ever bring something home and have your husband look at you like you had ten heads?! I did, this past weekend. 🤣 Eli has gotten pretty used to expecting some questionable things coming into our home. When I asked him to help me unload the car and he saw this…we both started laughing.

It is kind of funny when I think about some of the pieces I find…😆 This dress form looks a little silly but I just knew it belonged in our home! I’ve been on the hunt for one of these antique dress forms for years but was having trouble finding the perfect one that was in decent condition and at a reasonable price.

This past weekend, my sister and I ventured to an antique mall in Pittsburgh and after four floors of antique diggin’, I saw this cutie! There was no tag on it so I kind of brushed it off and kept browsing. When we were about to leave the mall, I thought that I would run it by the owner and brought up the little dress form I saw on the 3rd floor.

After he mentioned the price, I knew this was the one! So worth the wait. I adore the cast iron stand, original print, stitching, linen and vintage hardware. Seriously, every detail makes me swoon 😍

I’ve long wanted one of these forms for my office so I knew that was exactly where I wanted it to go! I placed it right beside my desk and it looks like it truly has belonged there all along. ❤️

I think it’s so fun adding unique pieces like these to spaces to add character and charm. I love giving a second life to pieces like these that in a “machine-made” world, would serve no purpose.

There are a few more pieces I’d like to add to this office of mine but checking one of these dream pieces off of my list feels so good! I’m excited to keep searching for this space by adding items that inspire me as time goes on.
