Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been trying to focus on “statement pieces” for the rooms in our home. I usually love seamless neutrals but I think the fun pops of unexpected patterns and texture are really what makes a home unique.
Our kitchen is one of my favorite spots in our home. I love all of the different elements in here like the white cabinets, dark hardware, carrara countertops, light gray walls, and antique bronze light fixture. While I love all of these things individually, it was feeling a bit sporadic for my liking.
I really was on the hunt for a rug that would tie all of these pretty colors together and I got this one on sale about a week ago!
I love how it pulls out the black in our kitchen hardware, the white/cream mesh well with the cabinets/countertops, and the golden brown really makes the wood elements and pendant light pop! I even love how the geometric patterns on the rug tie in with the shape of the light itself. 💛
I’m not usually one for bold patterns but I really am liking how this rug makes a statement in our kitchen. It’s really soft on the feet too, which makes doing dishes less of a chore 😉🙌🏼
We have already had a couple of spills on this rug and with warm water and mild soap, every stain has come up with no issues…fingers crossed! Stains were one of my concerns when buying a kitchen rug but it has held up really well. With it being right below our sink, I knew I wanted a rug that was durable and easy(ish) to clean.
Oh and side note! I’ve been emphasizing on brass elements with lots of antique planters on top of our kitchen cabinets. To me, this is a fun way to transition into spring! I am really working on my green thumb these days. Wish me luck 😬
How do you like our new geometric rug?! It really is crazy what a little area rug can do to a space. I went ahead and linked the rug in case any of you want to get it for your own home. It comes in lots of sizes, too! Thank you all for being here and reading our home progress. Love you all!
