If you’ve been a blog reader for awhile now, you probably know that our home is actually a modular build. We were super lucky to be able to customize lots of the aspects of our home through this process! There were a couple things that we just didn’t have the budget for initially and I knew maybe “one day” I’d like to switch up. One of these things? Our bathroom lighting.
Last weekend, I popped into one of my favorite antique malls and found quite a few treasures. Now, I don’t like picking favorites when it comes to antiques but I have to say….this beauty is definitely it!
This gorgeous antique brass chandelier was practically screaming, “TAKE ME HOME!” with its price tag of sixty dollars. Let me just say, you can barely get a brand new bathroom light for that price these days. I knew that it would bring the perfect amount of charm to our powder room if only we could find a willpower to hang it.
Luckily for me, my husband is pretty amazing. We ran into a couple of issues hanging this light because it’s so old. Eli ended up making it work by changing a few pieces of hardware to make it a fully-functioning bathroom light. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I just love that husband of mine.
The light fixture in this bathroom prior the antique chandelier was a wall sconce so we had to get creative on how to hang it. We decided to attach an expanding drywall hook to the ceiling to create the illusion of a ceiling mounted light. I actually don’t mind the “drooping” chain going towards the back wall, whatsoever.
I am absolutely obsessed with the character that it brought to this tiny space. I’m loving the mix of modern/vintage and honestly I feel like this may be the only space in our home that is finished (aside from decor that I will switch in and out because…. #HomeDecorBlogger) I can’t tell you how amazing it feels to have one room checked off of our list!

There was a spot for lighting on the wall. All we did was connect the wires 🙂
Thanks! And did you use a toggle bolt for the ceiling? How heavy was the chandelier? I have a 6 lb one and no stud so am wondering what to do to keep it sturdy :/
