This years’ Christmas decor vibe? Simple. I’m really striving to be intentional with the purchases I make and the decor I put into our home. I really want to focus on using/buying pieces I truly love and will be willing to use for years to come.
I wanted to create a simple and cozy centerpiece on our coffee table in our living room using a few “leftover” pieces from decorating. I’m loving how this one turned out, friends!
Since we upgraded to a larger tree this year, our old cable knit tree skirt looked a bit small around the large base of it. I still wanted to use our old one because I love any type of cozy texture & it ties into the pillows/blankets in this space so well. My solution? Plop in on our coffee table. It actually looks really cute because the tree skirt is in a round shape as well as our table. I love the un-done vibe and the warmth it gave this hard surface.
On top of that, I placed this beautiful cedar wreath that I picked up at my local TJ Maxx. I’m doing all cedar greenery in this space since our new tree is artificial cedar! Placing a wreath onto a round table is kinda my new favorite trick. It’s a no-fuss option that perfectly mimics the shape of the table. I’m hoping to use this technique in other seasons as well.
My favorite part of using a wreath on a table? You have a little space in the center of the wreath to create a focal point. Here, I used some bottle brush trees (at varying heights) that I picked up from Hobby Lobby. I’ve also placed pillar candles in the center of wreaths like this. The possibilities are endless!
As a final touch, I added in some twinkle fairy lights to the wreath. These are battery operated and basically magical to place just about anywhere during the Christmas season. We have so many of these around our house! It looks so cozy when it’s dark outside.
There are so many different ways to recreate this look! Oh, by the way, you don’t have to use a tree skirt. You could easily use a blanket, too!
I hope this shows you that decorating for the holidays doesn’t need to be difficult or spectacular. Just throw your “leftovers” together and add some twinkle lights. Pure magic.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today. Hope you all are having an amazing week!
