The goal for our living room this Christmas? Cozy-neutral-heaven. I wanted lots of warm whites and textures for days. The kinda room you want to take a long winters’ nap. How’d I do?
I’m loving it! We started by moving this wool/jute rug that was in our dining room into the space. The warm undertone of the rug was just what I was going for! To tie into the rug, I decided to add all of my white and/or cream pillows. Anything with tassels, cable knit or buttons. Cozy factor: Achieved.
After tossing a few chunky throw blankets around the room, the room immediately felt warm & inviting. Speaking of chunky blankets, I happened to use our old tree skirt on top of our coffee table to add some texture there, too. I shared all of the details on this coffee table decor on this blog post. I love the twinkle lights and cedar wreath!
You may have noticed lots of cream bottle brush trees in this space. From the ones displayed on our coffee table to the mini ones hanging on the garlands….I can’t get enough. They’re my absolute favorite! I think they tie into the creamy whites on the couch/rug just perfectly.
Along with the mini bottle brush tree garland, I layered lots of other garlands around the room. This included a few strands of wood beaded garland and some cable knit garland. Check out this blog post to see/shop all of my favorite Christmas garlands this year!
Another theme I was trying for this year? Cedar greenery. Since our Christmas tree is cedar, I really wanted to incorporate cedar throughout the space. That includes this cedar garland on the cabinet under our tv and the cedar wreath on our coffee table. I love how it all ties together!
As for our tree, I kept the goal the same: Neutrals! I used silver, gold, white & cream ornaments on this tree and it’s honestly one of my favorite trees I’ve ever decorated. I complimented that with some of my leftover garlands (mentioned above) and added a mixture of new & old ornaments.
Did you see where I found my vintage ornaments? Check this blog post I did a few days ago where I share my favorite place to find them! The newer ones are a mixture from TJ Maxx, Marshalls & Target. Mixing old and new ornaments can make your tree super unique and full of charm.
All in all, I’m really loving how our living room is looking & feeling this Christmas season. It’s the space that we spend the majority of our time in so I’m happy that it feels inviting and comfortable!
Thanks for hopping over to the blog today, it means so much!

If you hadn’t said cozy it would still be the first thought to come to my mind! How pretty, all of the cream and white colors compliment each other, and the gold and lights on your tree add a festive touch.
You never fail with your decor and I always walk away with ideas! Wondering where you found your rug, it’s perfect for any room.

AW!! Thank you! That truly means so much to me. The rug in this room is actually from Pottery Barn. It is a wool and jute combo rug 🙂
