Ever feel that “itch to switch”? I’m not sure if it’s the quarantine, the baby or just my creative heart – but I’ve been feeling the itch recently! One space that I really wanted to update to feel more “my style” is our master bathroom. With a few decor & hardware swaps we were able to transform our bathroom from french country to clean-lined traditional. I thought it would be helpful to share a few small changes to make in your bathroom that have a big impact!
As I go into different life stages, my home style has evolved. When we first moved into our home I loved the french country cottage vibe and our bathroom certainly reflected that. (To see the “before”, check out this post!) Now, I’m leaning more towards a clean and modern style. I wanted this new vibe to be reflected in our master bathroom but obviously didn’t want to do an entire bathroom overhaul. Instead, I swapped out a few things to make the space feel more “me”.
To start, we added these amazing double bath sconces. Lighting really updates a space & I love the ribbed glass on these along with the matte black finish. To coordinate with the lighting, we added a simple black towel bar and toilet paper holder. I love that all of the hardware coordinates! The black hardware really pops against the light colored walls and countertops.
I wanted to swap out our black mirrors for a modern wooden framed option. The new ones feel much more proportionate to the space and make it feel less cluttered! To add some modern texture, we opted for these affordable waffle knit towels. They add just the right amount of interest but keep things nice and neutral, which I love.
Speaking of towels, I also stumbled into this towel hook rack that gives us a functional (and cute!) space to hang our towels. The light finish of the wood pairs perfectly with the other wooden accents in the room. To coordinate with the towel rack, I grabbed two of these modern shelves. The black hardware on the sides pair well with the other hardware in the room and I love that we now have a functional space to store and display bathroom essentials.
On the shelves, I put this plastic apothecary jar set that looks like glass! It displays our cotton balls, cotton rounds & q-tips perfectly. I folded up a few of the waffle knit towels for display & a tissue box with a cute linen cover. It’s the little things that always make an impact!
After a few final touches, like the faux olive stems and updated soap dispenser – our refresh is complete! I am in love with the direction this space has gone. These were some changes to make in your bathroom to make a big impact – and I hope it was helpful! Sometimes, I full overhaul isn’t necessary – just a few decor swaps will do the trick! Thanks for stopping by the blog today & seeing what we’re up to.

I was online looking for different images of a bathroom vanity I was interested in and your bathroom came up. You have the vanity I was trying to find pictures of!! Can you tell me about the marble top that it comes with? Is their a lot of veining and movement in it? Does the color lean more to the creamy color or the bluish gray tones? Thank you.
sarah jane says
Hi there! Each slab will be different but ours tends to lean more creamy. I hope this helps

Beautiful!! Would you be able to share where the vase and olive branches are from? I love it!
sarah jane says
The vase is a vintage find & the olive branches are from Magnolia (online shop by Chip & Joanna)

I love your shower! Can you tell me what it is and where you got it? Is it time or panels? I’m redoing my bath and love the look. Also is it hard to clean?
sarah jane says
Hi there! Our tile was purchased through our modular home building company so I am unsure of the exact tile. I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

I see you kept the shower curtain as opposed to glass doors. Does this mean you are still happy with your decision?
We are looking to upgrade our bath with a low threshold pan too. I do not want glass doors and wondered how a curtain would work.
sarah jane says
Yes, we are still pleased with this decision!

Hi! Your bathroom is beautiful! It feels timeless to me. Do you have more images of the tile in the tub/shower area? Can you tell me where it’s from? Thank you!

Hi there! there are a few more photos on this post:

The supplies came from our modular home builder – I am unsure on the brand of tile. The shower base is by Clarion Everyday Luxury

Looks so good! I love the softer look that the gold mirrors bring in. I found this because I was looking for an alternative to a glass door and I love what you did!
sarah jane says
Thank you so much – we’re very happy with the shower curtain still!
Tina says
Great job! Did you keep the shower curtain (vs glass)?
sarah jane says
Yes!
Karen says
Any regrets about the shower curtain? We are getting ready to redo our small master bath. I HATE cleaning my shower doors and really want to do to a curtain on our shower stall. Everyone thinks I’m nuts!
sarah jane says
No regrets – we love the curtain!
