I have been thinking a whole lot lately about the season of life we are in now. It’s a little hectic and crazy. I’ve been trying to be more intentional with my life in a lot of aspects. One of those aspects? My home. It’s no coincidence that I have gravitated towards the whole, “less is more” approach recently. Mostly, because creating a simple arrangement of things around me translates pretty well into the rest of my life. In light of that, I wanted to create a minimalist fall centerpiece.
Let me explain. I don’t believe that more is always better. I don’t believe that decor needs to be elaborate to be beautiful. There is beauty in simplicity and I hope you all know this, too. I switched up the centerpiece on our (newly renovated) coffee table in our living room because I wanted a cozier/simpler vibe in here for the remainder of the season. This one was super easy and anyone can do it! I used things that I had around the house to create it and I must say, I love it.
To start, I used this super cozy knit blanket as a base. Have you ever thought to put a blanket on a table? Do it! It’s an unexpected element but one that brings such comfort to a hard wooden coffee table. It’s perfect for the cooler months. You could use any textile you have lying around!
Next, I piled on 3 greenish colored pumpkins on top of the blanket to add an autumn element. I’m obsessed with these light green pumpkins because it is a bit of color without being too much. For this portion, you could use faux pumpkins that you have in storage, too!
Lastly, I ripped apart an old wreath to get the dried pieces of wheat and stuffed those under the pumpkins. This brought another fall element and brought some warmth to the table. Head out to your yard or a field nearby & gather some dried stems. Yet another cozy touch to this minimalist fall centerpiece!
I hope that you know that home decor doesn’t need to be extravagant to be beautiful. Sometimes, simple is better. If you recreate this look, I’d love to see photos! You can put your own spin on it by using different colored pumpkins or blankets. I hope this post was helpful if you were looking for budget-friendly fall centerpiece ideas!
