I don’t normally decorate the bathroom. Let’s be real, I’m not sure that I ever have. It’s usually one of those spaces in our home that stays pretty consistent all year long. This season I thought it would be fun to add a few winter touches to our powder room without breaking the bank.
My inspo for this little “winter-izing” started with these juniper bundles that I found at our local Home Depot. I am really digging fresh winter greens this year and the little juniper berries add a subtle unexpected pop of color. Did I mention they smell amazing!? 💙 I plopped a few sprigs of them into matching antique jars that I have had for years and decided to use those as my main pieces of decor on the vanity. I also laid a few pieces on our little window sill that is above our toilet. The tiny ledge on this window can be hard to decorate but after adding a few sprigs of juniper stems, I am in love 😍
On small business Saturday this year, I stopped into a few of my favorite local antique shops and spotted a whole bunch of vintage Christmas ornaments. I knew right away that they were coming home with me. I tied a few of the mini ornaments onto the juniper stems on our counter using jute twine and placed the larger ornaments on the window sill. When I originally brought these beauties home, I imagined them in our living room on our big tree but I think they are much more safe here with our wild seven month old puppy….maybe next year 😉
A few months ago I placed these adorable architectural sconces on the wall (here) and since then, I have been switching out the stems depending on the season. They are so versatile since they are neutral in color and I’m thinking that these cuties are here to stay. I of course added some juniper stems here as well! Do you see a theme yet!? 🤣
I’m really loving this little winter bathroom refresh and it was so fun to create! The juniper bundle cost $7 and the vintage ornaments cost $15. Everything else in this little powder room was already here so this winter styling cost me a total of $22…..worth. it. I hope this shows that bringing winter to your home doesn’t have to cost a lot of money or be anything extravagant. Thank y’all for being here and checking out the blog. As usual, big hugs!
