Now that the holidays are behind us, I’ve been busy taking down all of the Christmas decor. This time of year, I always love to put the reds & jingle bells away while still keeping spaces looking appropriate for the winter season.

A few days after Christmas, we had some unusually warm temperatures here in western PA so I took advantage of it and decided to transform our front porch from “Christmas” to “winter”. You can check out the Christmas front porch decor on this post.

I started by taking away all of the red elements like the blankets around the greenery trees & the ribbon on the wreath. This brought everything back to a much more neutral vibe and a clean slate. Now to make it look cozy & inviting…

To accomplish this, I wrapped a few old chunky scarves that I had sitting in my closet around the top of each planter. I love how this makes the trees look like they are wearing little winter scares! How cute?! I added neutral color scarves to both sides to give a cohesive look & love how this created extra fun winter element.

To give the winter wreath a cozy touch, I added this braided knit yarn. This replaced the red velvet ribbon used in the Christmas look. This yarn was only a few bucks (for a whole bunch of it) from Hobby Lobby! I love using textures like this on the inside and outside of our home this time of year.

Only a few small changes transformed this space from a cheerful Christmas area to a winter wonderland. Sometimes all it takes is a few switch-ups! I’m so happy that I got this space spruced up while it was nice outside. Now, I won’t have to change the look of our porch until Spring rolls around in a few months.

Thank you all for checking out the blog today! I’m so happy to be back to blogging & have lots of great content in line for 2020. I appreciate you being here!

Thank you so much, Jane! I really appreciate that. Hope you’re having a great start to the New Year 🙂
What color is this door please?
I’m sorry, our door came with our home pre-painted. I’m unsure of the exact color but it is a charcoal grey!
