Since announcing our pregnancy a few weeks ago, I’ve been sharing a lot about how I’ve been feeling over on Instagram. The past few weeks, I’ve been feeling pretty crappy & have been spending lots of time relaxing in bed. With all of this extra time spent in this space, I really wanted to bring some festive holiday cheer to it. Today, I’m sharing five simple ways to decorate your bedroom for Christmas!
- Winter Greenery –
Nothing adds that cozy winter vibe like some faux rich greenery. We have two pine garlands in our bedroom this year & I love how they made the space feel. We attached one to the top of our headboard & the other to our large floor length mirror. Since I had some matching pine picks, I added them to the top of our nightstands for a cohesive look. Bringing the outside-in is the best way to transition your room to winter!
- Mini Decorative Christmas Trees –
I found these adorable mercury glass trees at my local TJ Maxx/Marshalls. For only $12 each, they add a fun sparkle to our beside tables. A cute touch – they even light up! The shine of the trees is a nice contrast to the rich-colored greenery on each nightstand.
- Fun Garland –
If you look closely, you can see that woven into our pine greenery is a pom-pom & jingle bell garland. I found this at Target years ago & I’ve used it each year since. The shine of the bells ties into the mercury glass trees on the nightstands and the pom-poms pull together all of the cozy elements in our bedding!
- Twinkle Lights –
In my opinion – the most crucial tip of them all. Twinkle lights make everything festive! You can find these affordable fairy lights almost anywhere. They give off the prettiest subtle glow which is perfect for a space, like a bedroom. I added the lights to each pine garland & it’s so nice watching Christmas movies in bed with the glow of the twinkle lights!
- Cozy Throw Pillows and Blankets-
The ultimate way to ramp up your bedroom for the cooler months is to add lots of textured pillows and blankets! I always love adding cable knit and sherpa textures to our bed this time of year. The textures on the bed tie in well with our wool rug, too! This year, I added these oversized natural cable knit pillows to our bed and I love the contrast the give against the white headboard & white bedding. These are awesome!
I hope that this idea list was helpful if you’re looking for simple ways to decorate your bedroom for Christmas! We tend to go all-out in spaces like our living room but this year, adding a few touches of holiday cheer to our bedroom has been so nice!
