There’s just something about having fresh flowers around that makes me smile. It’s silly, I know..but I’m “that girl” that actually enjoys seeing their beauty for a few days even if they die within a week. I thought it would be fun to put together a DIY fresh floral bucket to liven up my office!
About a week ago, I picked up a bunch of flowers from Trader Joe’s because they have the best flower selection for super cheap! I was feeling inspired to create a “bouquet” of my own and wanted to share some of my tips for creating one in case you want to try this for yourself. I added my bucket of flowers to my office space (which you can see more of here). This is the cutest idea for any special occasion such as a bridal shower, baby shower, dinner parties or holidays!
I created this DIY fresh floral bucket using a few bundles of flowers within the same color palette. I always go for colors that work well together to create a seamless bouquet that doesn’t pull your eye too much to one flower. In this case, I went with pinks & oranges to transition a bit into fall. A few of my other favorite combos are purple/blue and yellow/green.
I also made sure to pick up some white flowers and greenery because those tend to “soften” the look of the bouquet. You can never have enough of either of these when arranging because they bring an element of space between those pretty colors. The more the better!
By cutting the stems at different lengths, you’re able to create lots of dimension in an arrangement. Don’t be too Type-A with your stem trimming! The more you change it up the more visually appealing your DIY fresh floral bucket will be.
After all of my stems are cut, I placed them into this vintage bucket. There’s no real rhyme or reason to this. Try placing different types of colors/stems around the bucket and wa-la! You’ve made yourself a beautiful arrangement that’s bound to “wow” your guests. You can use a bucket, large vase or anything else you have lying around. Get creative & have fun!
I hope this was a fun idea for your future hosting parties! It’s a fun and simple way to get creative and make something beautiful. If you use any of these tips yourself, be sure to tag me on Facebook or Instagram!

I just love your arrangement, Sarah. It’s not fussy and the colors are so great together. Thanks for the tips! I have some metal French flower buckets somewhere and I’ll dig them out. Now…if the closest Trader Joe’s wasn’t 45 minutes away!! 🙁
