Since it’s September that means it’s socially acceptable to decorate for fall, right?! Right. Ready or not, here comes the next season! This is my favorite time of year so I get super antsy to decorate for it. This weekend I was out and about and drove past a Joann Fabrics. Mind you, I hardly ever go in there because I forget it exists to be honest. Whoops! Forget, no longer. On my stop in, I found tons of faux florals that were just pulling at my heartstrings. They looked so realistic and I had a coupon for 30% off my entire purchase which was just impeccable timing, really. I decided this would be a great opportunity to do a little fall makeover on the antique mantel in our master bedroom. I was ready for a change. As always 🤷🏻♀️I picked up 2 stems of these beautiful pompon roses in the color “orange rust” and 3 stems of these berry stems in a golden hue. They both looked just dreamy to me and compliment each other so well 💛 I love the dark green leaves on both stems. I snagged three of these white pumpkins as soon as I saw them because of the matte finish and the rust color that was in the “cracks” of the pumpkins. Since they aren’t stark white they tie into the colors of my florals amazingly.I found some old books that I had lying around and pulled out the ones that had the undertones that would compliment my florals. I used a mixture of browns, oranges, and yellows and flipped them around so that the pages were showing on my mantel. I love doing this trick because it tones down a lot of the color that would have been visible the other way around and keeps things neutral! I used two mason jars that I had in storage to put some of my stems in and I found these chippy candle holders to give an antique feel. Cuz ya know, the antique vibes must be in every project of mine 😏🙌🏼I love how whimsical, moody and romantic this mantel is now for the fall season. I am usually not one to use this much color but this makeover is making me change my tune. Our master bedroom now has such a different vibe than it did in the summer and I am loving the changes (will show y’all the rest soon…)Easy-peasy. That’s it! I purchased a total of 8 items and it came in under $25 using my 30% off coupon. I love how it turned out and since everything is fake, I can use it again and again (HOLLA!) I will no longer be forgetting about our little Joann Fabrics and am definitely going to be making more frequent stops in. Thanks for reading up on this little mantel makeover! I hope that this helps if you have a little shelf, mantel, or space that you are wanting to give a little refresh to. Let me know if you guys are liking these mini-makeovers! I am planning on doing a few more using items from stores local to (hopefully) everyone 😘
