I never realized how much I would love and appreciate a front porch until we built our house. It’s one of my favorite spots to relax and unwind. We have a long way to go with our front porch but this Spring it’s been one of my goals to spruce it up a bit and add some exterior charm.

This bench. Gosh. Can you even handle it!? I stared at this cutie for months and was surprised by my mom with it on Christmas. She’s the best! It was one of those pieces that I looked at every time I went into a local antique store but just couldn’t bring myself to buy with all of the other “more important” things we needed.

It’s technically an antique deacon’s bench that has the cutest original black paint, ever. I love how the black pops against our white siding! We’ve been using it a lot the past few weeks on the sporadic “nice days”. It’s been so amazing having a spot to sit out there. Summer, you can come any day now!

I’m so impressed with the shape of this bench. For being so old, it’s still completely sturdy and intact. To be honest, I was thinking it would be wobbly just from looking at it from afar but I was happily surprised.

I literally squealed when this was on my front porch one day and was so excited to use it at our farmhouse. I had always envisioned it on our front porch and I’m thinking this is where it will stay, for now.

I plan on sealing it with a polycrylic so that the paint doesn’t chip any further. This will also provide a bit of a water-proofing that will definitely be useful since it will be outside. We do have a covered front porch but better safe than sorry!

I always love sharing my antique finds with you and I hope you all enjoy seeing the pieces in our home. Oh the stories they could tell, am I right!? Thank you all so much for stopping by the blog today. All of my love.
