One thing I love to do this time of year? Scour our property for pretty branches to use as home decor. With spring officially here, there are lots of cute blooms available for clipping. I mean, who doesn’t love free home decor? Oh and little home decor tip of mine: Mixing faux and real stems!
I found a few cherry blossom trees on our walk around our property and thought they would be super cute to add to our home decor. I really wanted to mix some real branches with the faux olive stems in the vases on our bedroom nightstands. To see how the vases looked with the faux olive stems only, check out this post from last week.
After clipping a few branches and bring them inside, I was able to easily mix them in with my faux stems. I love how whimsical & imperfect they look. Sometimes I think faux stems can look too “perfect” and not natural enough, so using the real deal mixed in with the faux really helps!
This was super easy & not to mention – free! Can you really beat that!? I love how it turned out & how the green olive stems compliment the white blossoms so well.
Home decor doesn’t need to be pricey or complicated. Sometimes you just need to walk around your back yard & bring the outdoors, in.
I hope this post was inspiring in some way on an easy way to spruce up faux stems or arrangements. Never be scared mixing faux and real stems! It can be beautiful if done in the right way.
I would love to know what you think of this little styling hack of mixing faux and real stems. Comment below on your thoughts or if you decide to try this for yourself!

I love this—what a genius idea! The simplicity is keeping with the style of your bedroom. I love your bedding, too, I’m off to check out the sources. I have the same rug in my master!😊
