I always love switching up the decor/accent piece above our living room couch. I’ve had this fun idea in my mind that I’ve wanted to try for some time now: A reclaimed beam shelf!
I found this beam from Etsy (shop linked here!) and loved the light wood tone and authentic wood grain. It adds some rustic texture to the modern shiplap wall. Pieces like these speak for themselves and are so versatile.
We knew we needed to securely mount it to our wall so we found these black mounting brackets. They were around ten dollars each and hold up to 350 lb per pair so we knew these would be perfect!
After securing the mounting brackets to our wall studs using screws, we were able to place the reclaimed beam on top. The beam is pretty heavy so we knew it wasn’t going anywhere. Talk about an easy Friday night project – I love how this reclaimed beam shelf turned out!
Now for the fun part: Decorating! I styled the shelf with a DIY faux concrete pumpkin, vintage candlesticks, dried Fall stems and a round black mirror. I’m sure I’ll play around with the styling but for now, I’m loving it! I am already envisioning how cute this shelf will look with winter greens draped over the edge around Christmas time.
This was such an easy project and added such a cute accent to this large shiplap wall. Let me know if you recreate this reclaimed beam shelf in your home. Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
