Each year, I get so excited to decorate our front porch for Fall. Heading to the pumpkin patch and displaying a cute arrangement on our front porch is always exciting! This year, we went to the pumpkin patch in the second weekend of September and I was anxious to get home to decorating. Before heading to the patch, I always try to come up with a color-scheme. I wanted to stick with browns, tans & neutrals this year with a few dried elements. Here’s how our simple and natural Fall porch turned out!
This is the first Fall that our door is painted this stunning light griege color (to see which color, check out this blog post all about it!) I was excited to decorate around the new door color. The fresh coat of paint has really changed the feel of our porch. I decided to go with warm tones in my decor (browns, beiges & creams) to create that warm and cozy Fall feeling.
First, I purchased an assortment of pumpkins that would work well with the color scheme. Opting for light orange, brown & white pumpkins. I always try to find a few “flat” pumpkins or pumpkins with broken stems for stacking purposes. A bonus, usually these pumpkins are at a discounted price!
I stacked the pumpkins around our large black planters. They are still housing white bridal veil plants from summer. I couldn’t get rid of these beauties yet. They bloom tiny white flowers each day! In between the stacked pumpkins, I put some dried wheat from our field. It doesn’t get better than free decor!
Next, in sticking with the dried and earthy theme, I created this fall wreath. I used free elements cut from our yard or dried stems that were in storage. To see lots of my favorite dried stems for Fall, check out this blog post! The wreath was easy and very budget friendly. If you’re hoping to save a bit of money in your Fall decor this year, I suggest making your own unique front door wreath.
To complete the look, I layered two doormats. When it comes to Fall, the more layers the better. It adds some visual interest and ties in the colors of the pumpkins nicely. For a quick run-through on my method for layering doormats, check out this blog post!
I hope that this blog post on our simple and natural Fall porch was inspiring! As you decorate your porch for Fall, I hope there are some things from this blog post that help to spark your creativity. As I mentioned earlier, this is most certainly my favorite season to decorate for. This year, I am going for neutral and earthy inspired Fall decor so I am happy that our porch reflects that theme.
