Three Ways to Use an Antique Piano Stool

Soooo…I have been on the hunt for an antique piano stool for some time now. I have seen lots of these over the past few years but it took some patience finding one that is in really good condition and super charming.

A few weeks ago, I found this little cutie at an antique mall and knew it was “the one” ❤️ I brought it home and had so many ideas swirling through my head of where to put it and how to use it in our home. I thought I would share some of the ideas I came up with in case you find one of these little gems on your antiquing adventures! They really are so versatile.

The first way to use an antique piano stool is to use it as a plant stand! I am all about using unique items to hold our indoor plants. A few months back I even shared how we used an antique laundry basket as one (here)! This works really well for a corner that needs a little somethin’ somethin’. A piano stool is perfect for holding plants to keep them up off of the ground since they have a bit of height to them.

Okay this one is a bit more practical…a toiletry holder. I placed the piano stool in the corner of our little powder room and placed some toilet paper into a basket on top. Never leaving a guest feel awkward again 😉 I do really like the contrast the black cast iron has against the white floor tile so this option is a contender for sure!

If you’re anything like us, you accumulate a lot of magazines over time. I always love flipping through my favorite magazines and am actually a subscriber to quite a few. I always hate tossing them into the trash so I thought the piano stool would make for a cute little book/magazine holder in our living room! I love that it serves as a functional space to hold our magazines/books by allowing us to have more coffee table space.

I’m thinking of trying to find a few more of these piano stools to place around our home. They are the perfect size to fit into a little corner or nook that needs to be a bit spruced up.
