I feel like this post has been months in the making. I’m so excited to finally share the rug we found for our living room. A few months back we had this wool/jute rug in our living room and while I loved the rug itself, I wasn’t loving it with our beige couches.
I ended up moving the jute rug into our dining room which you can see here and have been on the hunt for a new one for the living room ever since. Now, I don’t consider myself super picky in a lot of aspects of my life but with big home decor pieces, I am.
I was looking for a quality rug that was neutral in color but not solid. A rug that would transition well through the seasons and years to come. I found this rug on a retailer’s site (that I will leave unmentioned) for a small fortune. I ended up getting it for half of the price that I originally saw it for! Sometimes research pays off.
**For the sake of showing you all this rug in it’s truest representation, I have not edited any of the photos on this blog post. I hope this is helpful if you’re looking to purchase**
This area rug spoke to me right away. I loved the subtle vintage pattern, neutral color palette and the fact that it was a quality wool rug. This rug is low-pile which I am happy with since our living room is a high-traffic area in our house. I always recommend getting a low-pile rug in areas of your home like this because the rug won’t wear down as fast.
The colors. Oh, the colors. It’s listed as “bone”, but I see lots of ivory mixed with grey. The grey has a very slight green undertone that I’m actually obsessed with right now. I think this adds the perfect amount of color without being overwhelming. I love that the pattern is subtle and not, “STARE AT ME!” It is simple beauty that still makes a statement.
Since it is a low pile rug, I plan on investing in a thicker-than-normal rug pad to add some cushion in case we are sitting or laying on the floor. You can tell it’s really well made and super soft on the feet!
Overall, I’m super happy with this rug. We’re looking to make a few changes in our living room this summer so I think the rug is a perfect piece to build off of. I’m linking the exact rug we have for the best price I could find it.
What do you guys think of our new living room addition?! I’d love to know in the comments below. Thank you all for being here. It feels so good to be back into the swing of blogging after my mini Spring Break last week. Love you all!
