Anyone else a huge thrift store lover?! I always love popping into local thrift stores to see what goodies I can find for great prices. One man’s trash and another man’s treasure. Am I right!? Today, I’m sharing how I turned this vintage hook into a kitchen towel hook!
A few months ago, I found this adorable vintage hook for $3 and scooped it up right away! I loved the porcelain knobs and the antique brass color. Oh, and can we just talk about the shape of this one? Vintagey-goodness.
I never knew exactly where I was going to put the hook when I bought it, so I’ve had it in my storage room until I could find just the right spot. I was doing dishes about a week ago and it hit me that it should go right on our upper cabinet by our sink! This is the perfect spot to display a dish towel and add a fun- yet functional – feature to our kitchen sink area. The best ideas strike at the kitchen sink… 😉
I used a command strip to attach the hook to our upper cabinet so that if I ever want to take the hook down, the paint won’t be damaged/marked-up. Easy as pie!
I love that the antique brass color of the hook ties into our pendant light fixture above our sink! If you came to me about two years ago I would have said “No way…you need a black hook/fixture to go with that faucet“, but nowadays, I’m all about mixing metals. It can beautiful and rules were meant to be broken, right?!
I hope this kitchen towel hook inspires you to create touches in your home that you truly love. Have fun with home decor and don’t worry about the “rules”! After all, these are the elements that make our home unique and that’s what it’s all about. Love this idea. Have you had any trouble with a damp towel hanging so near your cabinets (most likely making contact at times)?
Thanks!!

We haven’t had an issue with that!
