I’ve been searching high and low for pumpkins in Pittsburgh and haven’t had much luck. I try to be patient with these things but I can’t help it….I just get too darn excited!
We found a bunch of regular orange pumpkins at our grocery store but I was hoping to find some unique ones that were a variety of colors. Luckily for us, we found a whole bunch at a local greenhouse called Soergel Orchards, so head there if you’re local and in need of some fun pumpkins! They have the cutest assortment of pumpkins in Pittsburgh.
If you aren’t local, check some greenhouses near you! I don’t have the best luck finding fun colored pumpkins like these at Lowes or Home Depot so take to Google and find some greenhouses for more variety. Oh and supporting your local farmers isn’t a bad idea, either!
I’m a big fan of using real pumpkins each year because they’re fully compostable and honestly, it’s one less thing I have to store in my storage room. I believe this whole bundle of pumpkins was around $50 which wasn’t bad considering they will be used on my porch for at least 2 1/2 months!
This year, I definitely wanted to switch it up from my standard “all-neutral” look. I ended up going with pumpkins in a variety of colors from orange, blue and white. It’s fun to step out of my comfort zone a bit when it comes to seasonal decor!
I’m still trying to decide how I want to use these by our front door but I know I will be looking for some mums to pair with them. I’ll be sure to post the process on this styling so that you guys can follow along!
For now, we have our pumpkins on our little front porch potting bench. I had to snap a few pics to show you guys. If you’re anything like me, you’ll appreciate some pretty pumpkins on an old chippy potting bench…haha! I just had to share the pumpkins we got because I am so excited about them. I’m loving the color variety and how festive they are!
I’m itching to get these beauties styled and looking all pretty by our front door. ‘Tis pumpkin season…officially! (UPDATE: See how I styled these pumpkins, here!) I hope this is helpful if you’re looking for pumpkins in Pittsburgh. If you aren’t local, best of luck on your pumpkin search!

I love them all! Good mix of white and color. Our grocery store had a huge display of the coolest pumpkins last week. Did I purchase any? No! Why? Not sure, but I plan to get back asap and get me some!!
Yay for Fall…even if the temps are to be in the 90’s for a bit longer!!

Thanks so much Karen!! I’m hoping to get some mini pumpkins this week too at our grocery store. Hoping all of the good ones aren’t snatched up already…haha!

You are so right in going out into the country to get your pumpkins and gourds, even hay. I do that up at my lakehouse in Michigan. Here in Chicago, they are overpriced and all the unique and colorful ones are snatched up early! Btw, I love that chippy cabinet!❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much!! A local farmer actually made it out of an old beadboard door and some reclaimed wood. I couldn’t pass it up!

Hi! Love these adorable pumpkins (from two years ago, I know ;))! I’ve been strongly considering using real pumpkins on our porch, but our neighbors’ got eaten by squirrels! Any advice for keeping critters away? Thanks!

I wish I could help but I haven’t run into that problem yet!!
